Baseball peeps, help me out. Why would a guy who wants to pitch AND hit choose an AL the, where he can only do both in interleague games?

Because he hit .332 in Japan last year and that really isn't going to translate to MLB. your best hitters in AAA are batting 300 and riding the bench in the majors. Teams are going to tell him what he wants to hear, but his at-bats will dwindle to nothing if he's a decent pitcher

Bottom line, teams are just going to pay way too much money to expose this guy to injury. I foresee him getting the types about bats Madison Bumgarner gets occasionally. Might be different if he's just an average pitcher though. They might move him to the Outfield and let him hit
