“In some ways, employers are actually helping you save money by not paying you until the end of the month" says the skeptical economist. I guess normal humans aren't capable of saving and they need their corporate overlords to save for them?

This is just another way to exploit workers by taking a % of their pay if they need the money asap.

Article claimed it was free of charge to employees. Employer pays a small fee for service.

Those debit cards may not have deposit feea but they are really gift cards that carry fees to pull cash off of them, etc

Have you been charged for using gift cards? I have not.

Try taking cash from one of those "debit" cards, you will be charged a fee by the ATM & card company as there is no bank associated, many have monthly fees, etc. Not really news that big corporations will nickel/dime working people, they're not providing a service to be nice
