Can never understand Indians who belittle their own culture and traditions. In Europe dogs/horses are loved so they are not eaten. If cows are equally loved in India why belittle those who chose not to eat it? Strange

Bad translation of ancient Sanskrit does not make good material for debating cultural issues. Please read correct translations. http://www.vedicgranth.org/misconceptions-on-vedas/misconception-3---violence-against-animals-meet-eating-etc …

Our ancestors ate pork also. Then why people belonging to a community do not eat it now?

There are people who are up in arms when China starts a tiger farm. Dolphins, octopus, even dogs shant come to harm. But cow protection, well, that's haram. Ps: no violence tolerated except what the state lawfully brings to bear. Take your hate elsewhere.

Horse sacrificed to honor god(s) was a common Indo-European tradition, including Vedic Indo-aryans.
