Holy poorly written. You apparently need to do some research. Mattie was very well known before the window incident.

This article fails to address the extraordinary increase in injury risk from following a CrossFit regimen. The very basics of CrossFit run counter to the practice of sports medicine and safe training methods. No point in taking an unscientific short cut and getting injured.

is there research on this? May I see it? The only thing extraordinary about crossfit is that its getting people up off their ass and moving.

There are a couple of studies you can Google, along with stories:https://deadspin.com/crossfit-sues-competitor-for-revealing-its-injury-rat-1603182256 …

The biggest problem crossfit has is people doing Crossfit workouts in "globo" gyms. non supervised athletes have a much higher rate of injury than supervised athletes. Sure injuries occur, but to say catastrophic is a farce

"Most reported injuries in CrossFit appear to be of an acute nature, as participants generally reported no prior history of discomfort or injury to the body area they subsequently injured."https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4555591/ …

I mean, we should be nuanced. Even among acute injuries, most people recover without lingering problems. The issue is powering through these injuries with little to no recovery time, since frequency of trainer use is related to gender. CrossFit is more dangerous to men (ego)

So no, I'm not saying anything farcical, nor should you claim so when studies show CrossFit has an injury rate equivalent to practicing Olympic-level sports - except Joe Schmoes are the ones performing these exercises. It should be common sense.

People feel strongly about their choice of fitness regimen because it represents their personal judgment. CrossFit folks tend to be fanatical in their devotion, and fanatical in argumentation. But that doesn't change the science behind injuries in sports.

If you’re an athlete, chances are you’re gonna have these surgeries once or twice. It comes with the territory.
