God, I hope there’s a semblance of sanity re gun safety & holding gun manufacturer’s responsible for their products, just like Big Tobacco was held responsible. #gunsafetyforourkids

There's no fundamental right of smoking or chewing tobacco, whereas there is a fundamental and constitutional right to keep and bear arms and to self protection and preservation. Smoking diseases are self inflicted. Guns are inattimate objects that do not kill or injure people.

The shooter held a valid state drivers license. The state is responsible for providing that license. The state collaborated with Remington which resulted in death at Sandy Hook. Who sold him the gas for his car?

This lawsuit is completely asinine. Do you sue Jack Daniels & Ford when someone drives drunk and kills someone? Do you sue Louisville Slugger when a bat is used in an assault? How about Trojan during a rape?

No comparison Tony. Assault rifles are mass-killing machines...and should be banned.

Are the rifles mass killing machines or are people mass killers? Also, true “assault rifles”, (those with select fire capabilities) are already highly regulated & not used in these shootings.

Let’s not be naive. You don’t see mass stabbings where hundreds are injured and more than 50 dead. You think our forefathers intended for weapons with the capacity to do so much harm to be afforded to the masses? Assault weapons may not be the problem but their use is.

Our forefathers wrote #2A specifically including all weapons. The Belton Flintlock, Girandoni Rifle and the Puckle Gun are all examples of “assault weapons” which existed prior to the amendment.

We don’t have to agree Tony. But if LV and TX shooter’s didn’t have rapid fire capabilities, those tragedies would not have involved as many people. You really can’t argue with that.

The rifles didn’t have “rapid fire capabilities”. They were semi-auto rifles. One trigger pull, one bullet. LV used a mod to simulate full auto but his rifle was not. Lots of misinformation about firearms. Best way to learn the truth is to fire one.

What the person does with gun is not Remington’s fault. It’s the shooter.

This is like suing a car maker because you got hit by a car... Companies shouldn’t be held responsible for what people do with their products.
