A study co-authored by Uber found drivers inevitably take home about the same earnings whether or not fares go up or downhttp://on.wsj.com/2hleeKZ

Nonsense. Uber is pocketing higher and higher fees, even more than double what the driver is paid. This "study" doesn't take into account that Uber charges riders based on willingness to pay - which has no relation to driver pay. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-05-19/uber-s-future-may-rely-on-predicting-how-much-you-re-willing-to-pay … via @EricNewcomer

Warning flags already go up when I read 'co-authored'. That's like tobacco companies helping with research on lung cancer...

Sure, if rates go down then drive more to maintain, so yeah they take home about the same, but very misleading study and story because it's not fair to constantly move the rates up and down but mostly down so they have to work that much longer to maintain the income they need.

Yea no shit! That’s because the taxi company keeps the increase profits not the driver. The driver is stuck at the same wage year after year.

@Uber and @lyft are both same MITE sucking poor drivers’ blood, drivers are not only trashing their cars and money, they are trashing their future. It is a complete deceitful.. in near future, uber and Lyft will say to all drivers, I don’t need you all, take your cars to junkyard

Biggest load of bo##ocks I've ever heard... Next they'll be saying turning over a million £ and only paying £15,000 in tax is the right social thing to do.... So long as your paying off the top national & local politicians...
