Would the bill lower premiums and deductibles for mid-class Americans? Seems like this would just re-enshrine ACA w/out concession to cons.

Yes. Read the article. CSR funding reverses 25% premium spikes. The bill also allows low cost plans to get younger ppl in risk pool.

Read it twice. Assumption has always been that young ppl would buy low cost plans. PE condition coverage lets them to wait til they're sick.

Furthermore, bill leaves mandate repeal intact. Many would voluntarily opt out, driving premiums up.

CSR subsidies would offset premium spikes in short term, but this assumes that govt should be propping up insolvent insurers to begin with.

“Mandate repeal intact”? What? Alex-Murray does not repeal mandate or affect PE conditions. Insurers aren’t insolvent. 75% markets have 2+!

If anyone is driving healthy ppl out, it’s Trump. Cutting enrollment period, cutting outreach, breaking website. This increases premiums.

Insurers are insolvent, thus the reason premiums have been spiking since long before Trump. POTUS exacerbating, not creating death spiral.
