take it off the street so big pharma can sell it with FDA blessing. Don't let a good crisis go to waste

The FDA is nothing more than a proxy for drug companies. Watch where the "approvers" work in a couple years.

@US_FDA . If you start mass producing these pills, could you PLEASE sugar coat them so they don't taste like hair spray covered chalk? Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

PTSD is difficult to treat. But MDMA comes with a huge withdrawal after use, will therapists stay with patients during the negative effects?
-
I dont think they will be prescribing street versions of the drug. Also there are many legal drugs with "huge withdrawal" such as Ritalin and Effexor does your perspective apply to them as well?
-
I'm concerned w how the serotonin plummet and depression after MDMA use will affect those with PTSD. It takes a toll even on healthy users.
-
X has been used in this manner for decades. This journalist and maybe a few other officious parties have now recognized this. I believe health practitioners are more aware of the side effects of X than U or I & more capable of weighing the pros & cons of those effects on patients
-
That may well be, but it's a huge concern and it wasn't addressed in the article. I'm cautiously optimistic
Let's see how the trials go

I've never heard of weed curing PTSD, can it do that?
-
Vets have been asking for it for over a decade. Yeah, its a huge help.
-
Yea, I can get that it's a big help for sure, I think the difference is that MDMA can actually cure PTSD, while weed is good for helping sufferers cope
-
I don't really see a way to "cure" it though without completely suppressing or removing the memories altogether though.
-
it doesn;t suppress them, it re-contextualizes them so they aren't associated with immense negativity and distress
-
I just don't like the idea of more synthetics being pushed over something natural that is known to work.
-
I'm not saying one should be pushed over the other, I think they both should be allowed to exist if they both help a lot of people. I don't see what's inherently wrong with synthetic chemicals if they can cure an illness that hasn't had much success being cured
