How is that different from the Bombardier aircraft receiving direct help from the government of Quebec? #bombardier #Cseries

Completely different. Boeing and Bombardier is in a international trade dispute, which is under WTO jurisdiction. Bombardier is accused of pricing below market to drive out competition by taking loss purposefully, which is made up from funding from Canadian gov. (1/2)

Amazon deal is domestic. States are luring Amazon to invest by offering tax incentive package. The money is used for domestic R&D and operational purpose, and not funding for international business. At least no foreign entities have accursed Amazon for doing so ... yet (2/2)

How is that different? Amazon gets subsidies that will contribute to amazon gigantic reach around the globe and make its products cheaper!

Erroneous thinking. Tax package is not a subsidy. Amazon is a retailer does not make any product. Amazon only sells product legally imported into the US to the US market. Amazon.ca only sells local or legally imported to Canada for the Canadian market ... etc. (1/2)

Better example. Samsung DRAM dumping anti-trust case of 2005. Samsung used Korean gov subsidy to make and sell DRAM below cost with to drive out foreign competition. Micron sued in 2002. Samsung finally plead guilty to price fixing and paid a $300M fine. (2/2)
