Workers under 30 are far more ambitious than their elders. Here’s how young women are changing work.http://on.wsj.com/2z79cZq

Are you kidding me? No they are not!! They only do what they have to do and do not show any initiative. I could work circle around them!

They also sometimes show immaturity and diminished problem solving thinking skills. Yes, I know, they will also work for a lower wage.

I worry we confuse ambition with energy. We also nee to stop devaluing experience.

I get really ticked off hearing how “unambitious” I & my fellow 50+ women were- how we didn’t “lean in” & all that cr*p

Maybe because older workers opened the doors first? Incredibly ageist outlook.

Because these women have strong mothers/older women role models 2 look up to, who successfully juggled work/family & made their entry easier

That is not what I see at work. I see the young women backstabbing older women thinking they will get ahead. I see laziness in the Extreme.

Age is an aspect of diversity: Experience brings quicker decision making & execution. Sheer newness can scuttle "We don't do it that way." Economist @DianeSwonk embraces broad definition of diversity bc research @HarvardBiz & others show different viewpoints = better results.

Just because you make a lot of noise doesn't mean you're ambitious. The most ambitious are too busy keeping their head down for publicity.
