Wasn't that Damore's point? That women choose jobs/companies they are interested in?
-
Article says Sephora created a culture that identified potential in fem employees and provided opportunities in tech jobs they didn’t choose
-
1) Who do you think it is easier to attract women, Sephora or Google? 2) Sephora "tech jobs" aren't coding on far end of bell curve
-
Probably Sephora. But I don’t think there is anything wrong with Google asking “what can we do to be more attractive to female candidates.”
-
Why do you think they don't do that? Google's female hire ratio is precisely what the STEM grad rate is - 21%
-
Not in the field so I’m by no expert. I guess they see 52% of the consumer market and want talent who might better connect them to it.
-
For consumer market, for sure. It's a balance with accepting lower quality candidates
-
As long they’re qualified and mgmt can nuture growth and development I can’t see a motive for not hiring female candidates w/ potential.
