In economics, a deficit is an excess of expenditures over revenue in a given time period. Translation: Stop spending money you don't have.

Lol of course its tax cuts that cause deficits, not spending.

We can if we build a border wall and deport illegal aliens. We can if we cut expensive regulations, useless fed programs, and welfare fraud

Libs always say we can't afford tax cuts, but that's only because they support unlimited spending.

Ideally, there needs to be pro-growth tax reform along with supply-side policy. Jobs->more workers->more tax revenue, less welfare spending.

Where are all those people who said federal deficits were irrelevant during the Obama admin? He's gone and now they're relevant? Odd.

The US can no longer afford irresponsible Congressmen spending money we don't have year after year. Need to scale down & live w/in our means

They mean the US can no longer afford to spend money it doesn’t have so instead of cutting waste, they want to raise taxes

The US is the dumbest bunch of kooks on the planet. We tax the crap out of people and STILL have no $$ because of crooked politicians.

No one can afford deficits. Otherwise they would be surpluses. Socialism doesn't work.

Certainly not without a growth economy. Tax cuts for following yr ought be tied to GDP growth. Good growth targeted cuts, bad growth, few.

Can't afford deficit increasing tax increases either. Congress is going to spend regardless. "Saved" future dollars are spendable dollars.
