This is wrong on so many levels - the pharmacy is not the doctor - if there is concern @cvspharmacy should simply CALL THE DOCTOR!

We had
@cvspharmacy pharmacist take it upon himself to reject medicine for our son who is autistic because he felt the doctor prescribed 1/ -
too much in general - well duh, he treats children with autism! When in doubt, call - you are not the doctor!

I have refused several high dose risperidone rxs for young children. It is my license and I have to side with FDA on max pediatric dosing
-
I understand that. While dr should know appropriate levels, pharmacist is another layer of protection. A call would have alleviated concerns

And if recorded, removed liability from you. But blanket I won't fill scripts from this dr or practice is nuts.

It is and I'm sorry for your experience. Unfortunately we can always be held liable despite confirming dosage.

The pharmacy is just gonna decide all on its own whether a patient needs their pills? That can only end well...

With no access to your medical file so they have no idea what you're being treated for. So, how can they say how much is needed?
-
It is NOT up to them it's up to our Dr's. TERRIBLE DECISION
