Shameful NH continued to call a hotline rather than bring patients to fully functional hospital across street, or call staff doctor

I'm wondering if there were any licensed nurses at the ALF during those 3 days the patients went down.

I wondered the same. The storm was Sunday and they called an emergency hotline Wednesday. Surely someone recognized the decline.

It took an RN working in the Emergency Dept. -Memorial Regional Hospital- to walk across the street & investigate the ALF on Wed. morning

Florida has the highest # of elderly in US & is just now requiring backup generators for nursing homes. This is how awful FL Legislature is.

Compromise a/c bill would have set aside $57mil to reimburse nursing homes for air conditioning. Derailed by senate http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/stateroundup/how-a-bill-requiring-nursing-homes-to-have-back-up-ac-died/2337550 …

It's all about the $$.Blame is on the industry, FL senate for failing to pass bill in 2006 and Gov Scott for failed leadership!
