1st Amend. applies to all Americans, not just ones who share your views. I despise these ppl's views, but they have the same rights as I do.
-
I disagree. Germany wouldn't allow Nazi symbols, statues and marches and we shouldn't either. Every Amendment can be regulated.
-
Germany doesn't have a First Amendment. I don't want the government deciding what ideas are legal.

The First Amendment is one thing. Hate Speech is another animal altogether. It is banned in Germany because it's dangerous.
-
The First Amendment doesn't apply in Germany
-
The 1A doesnt apply to speech that incites violence either, which most hate speech does
-
The 1A does protect hate speech where there is no threat of or incitement to immediate violence.
-
thank you for repeating me but reversed. nazi speech is incitement of violence, calls for ethnic "cleansing"
-
SCOTUS has been clear that only fighting words and incitement that are meant to provoke IMMEDIATE particularized violence are unprotected
-
Generalized calls for violence or vague threats are not enough to allow govt censorship

Civil rights belong to people, not groups. Second Amendment is one of those rights.
-
That's not strictly true. SCOTUS has held that certain rights like speech, association & free exercise of religion can be asserted by groups
