Why not both, like every other job?
-
Super salary with 0 experience. Who's dumb enough to buy this?
-
Super salary? Who said that? People should be compensated for the value they bring. And unpaid furthers the divide b/w well-off and poor.
-
A non-profit is paying me for my internship and I'm doing valuable work getting great experience. It's not much, but enough to survive.
-
And if a non-profit can do it, companies and profit organizations can value them. Experienced or not, at lower levels of pay of course.
-
Refuse to pay us for work then turn around and wonder why we have no savings and tons of debt

For me to get my degree, I had to do 2 internships. Both wanted to hire me once I graduated.
