        Tbh idk why government is still offering such ambitious and unrealistic retirement packages. Private sector did away with pensions ages ago

        This is just bad policy! Good policemen who devote their lives to public safety should have fully funded, secure retirement plans.

        They should. But cities who promise pensions should honor promise. Fireman & police who risk lives shouldn't get 3/4 of promised benefit

        Perhaps they'd have the benefit of they weren't allowed to stack overtime in their last 5 years to juice their pensions.

        True. Detroit was such a fiasco. Pensioners were screwed over, while the city issued a new stadium bond.
