I know right? No wonder they look to the 50s/60s w so much nostalgia. At 22 they were starting careers & buying affordable 3 bedroom houses.

Hard to save when you're paying back large loans and rent. Living in the city doesn't help but that's where the work is. It's not that we

Don't want to save, it's that it's physically impossible for most. Wages are too low/jobs not available and cost of living is too high.

When having to take at the very least a two hr daily commute to work is the only option in home ownership, I'd rather rent.

And I'd argue most couldn't afford it and even if they could it's probably not worth it to begin with.

Not an easy Twitter topic. Basically depending on the market in question it's likely to be either overpriced or not a good investment.

Housing markets in general are still in disarray after the bubble burst a few years back. Plus the idea of home ownership being a must is BS

For many it's a tradition, an achievement set by a time and a generation long since gone. Times have changed considerably.

Owning a home is nice. But it's absolutely fine not to, especially if the homes are overpriced and/or not the investment they used to be.
