.special kind of hubris to spend almost $6 a share or more than twice the annual dividend on a new flashy HQ.
Imagine how long it takes to walk to a meeting though.
Apple has always loved splashy architecture, though. The rest are simply following their 20+ year lead in aesthetics.

New Apple HQ is also Steve Jobs tribute to Hewlett-Packard, built on former HP Cupertino site. HP gave Jobs his first job at that location.
Jobs was deluginal - every synchrotron (particles accelerator ) has such architector for last 40+ years
