Nope. Open a 529 plan for each kid. Everybody has to retire but not every kid goes to college.

There are more financially savvy options available. Less expensive schools, scholarships, low interest loans, and jobs.

work w/ your kid(s) to find such options. Need to stay home a go to a local CC bc of funds? So be it. Don't touch that retirement acct.

Especially for a technical, associates, or bachelors degree.

Never. There are scholarships, work-study programs, local community colleges that have 3/1 reciprocity agreements with universities...

Sad to see so many young people starting out in debt. My kids were lucky; got good degrees with no loans thanks to inheritance.

try trade schools. It's a better investment b/c they'll be gainfully employed and less in debt. Don't feather nests lib profs either.

No. You can borrow for school, but not for retirement. Plan carefully, look for scholarships & financial aid.

Have the student do the research (&help guide them!) And consider this work/effort 2B their first big job hunt! They have to want it!
