One of the reasons we need more protected national parks, not fewer.
They allow to many people and cars in at a time. For day trippers, Park n Ride shuttles into the park should be utilized.

Best time to visit most California national parks is in the fall throughout the spring winter seasons when crowds are low.

I spent many summers in Yosemite in 70's. Slept on Half Dome. Hiked 28 days-211 mi-Yosemite to Mt. Whitney. I'm one of the lucky ones.
This is cause for concern about the sustainability of such masses and a possible control in the future!
