@WSJ I work customer facing and somehow I give good service without being tripped. #endtipping

@WSJ without tipping service will go to lowest common denominator. Sounds like a socialist lefty scheme

@WSJ There's nothing wrong with #tipping, it's when it's expected regardless that it becomes annoying and impolite.

@WSJ @PreppyProf I seem to be tipping a higher percentage due to societal pressure but my service continues to get worse

@WSJ Of course tipping has gotten out of control. Why more tip for eating more pricy item? They expect x% tip on the food total plus tax.

@WSJ tipping should be a bonuses. Other way it will become a excuse to not pay the workers

@WSJ The limo driver at my wedding angrily exclaimed that I tipped him wrong. He got lost on the way to the reception, but expected 20%!

@WSJ if a kitchen worker wants to be tipped they need to become a waiter. Many people support their families with tips.

@WSJ look at the service industry in Australia. Compare that to the U.S. where we lower pay below minimum wage because of unreliable tips.

@WSJ yes given its largely a tax dodge for restaurants to not guarantee waiters/staff min. wage. If anything, would increase competition

@WSJ it's only appropriate to end tipping when everyone makes a living wage, and the highest paid positions make >30x basic wages.
