@WSJ I bet the teachers' real motive is to push students away from simplistic writing, not to permanently ban simple words. -

@und_gott_tanzte@WSJ agreed. And a schoolwide ban can imply that thesaurus words are direct equivalents. It's not a strategy I would use. -
@und_gott_tanzte@WSJ but I would definitely use it for an exercise, or maybe even for a semester in one grade.
