@HLewison that's what I mean. Soldiers should ONLY be used for wartime/defending the country. Not for Red Cross missions. -
@rctu77 HADR is one of the hallmarks of the Marine Corps. I can guarantee those Marines wanted to be there assisting.

@HLewison if the military had a policy to use soldiers only for war/defense those soldiers would still be alive -
@rctu77 And where would partnerships we have with other countries be? The earthquake in Haiti, tsunami in Thailand.

@rctu77 Because the military is best equipped for a rapid response and search and rescue. FYI...helos go down deliver food & water too.
