Is it only shameful in this situation? Or is it also shameful, when police use it, all the time for crowd control?. Was it shameful when it was used at the border in 2013? The media is shameful.

I object to using tear gas against the migrants, especially bc of the small children present. But to conflate CS gas (non lethal tear gas) with nerve agents and other legal chemical agents is dishonest and ridiculous. Every soldier in the army gets tear gassed in training.

Trump had several months to prepare to accommodate these asylum seekers. He chose to do nothing but militarized the border, shut down the port of entry and gas people.

Anyone who has been exposed to tear gas, and have some sort of educational experience with it, knows that teargas is harmless when used in open spaces. It may not be a pleasant experience but it won't hurt you compared to the brute force that would have otherwise been used.
