Of course. we shipped out 95% of the manufacturing and industrial jobs overseas and the remaining service sectors are in a historical glut (law, medicine, finance etc) + restlessly high expenses (from cell bill to rent to taxes) + 2% annual inflation = broke generation

I agree. Nobody was helping me in college when I had 2 jobs.

Worked on offshore drilling platforms during the summer while attending college to pay for my tuition and room/board. Graduated with zero debt. Can’t stand the whinny kids who want a free college and stay at mom/dad

Going by your profile, you were in college over 30 years ago. Tuition has increased over 200 percent since then. Paying for college with a summer job in this era is a laughable conceit.https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2017/11/29/how-much-college-tuition-has-increased-from-1988-to-2018.html …

I graduated with a Bachelor's in 2009 working 2 jobs, supporting myself and my mother and I got my Master's degree in 2014 with 3 jobs and 1 internship. Think again kiddo.

I was replying to the post that mentioned a summer job supplying tuition. Nevertheless, the fact that you needed multiple jobs to pay for college proves my point. Thank you.

Do you have any idea what your definition of “summer job” was? You have zero idea what working on offshore oil platforms for a like, the paid is great but 4am-6pm 15 days straight, 1 week on land. You pampered pooch

Hmm. What could possibly have changed since the time I was in college? Nope, couldn't be the economy or the costs of schooling! I'll just blame young people like a clueless dipshit.

Obama let them stay on their parent's health insurance policies until they turned 26, even if they had their own homes and jobs.

Because the majority of this age group is still in college! And goddamn it, they don't get health insurance until they get a JOB!!!! The risk of including them on parents insurance is minimal cuz they're young n healthy!!

I don't have a problem letting kids stay on HC plans if they are still claimed as dependants. But law said all could do it, even if they had their own families, homes & jobs.

And because they're young & healthy they should've been allowed to be much less expensive hospitalization plans which suited their needs and budgets.

The "child" could stay on their parents plan, not "all" and agree on that plans needed to be mapped out better, but ACA never got its feet wet before Rs took over n started wiping it out!! It needs tweaks, not annihilation!

Rs took over because majority of voters wanted it wiped out.

Let’s just be honest about the health insurance in this country- it’s a biggest scam since Mr. ponzi. The market is balkanized so the ins cos could slice & dice the customer base milking the highest premiums possible, and don’t get me started on deductibles, copays, exclusions etc
