assuming that people who are not white are incapable of obtaining ID is pretty racist

Did you even read the article? Safe to assume not as it does not in any way state that non-whites are incapable of obtaining ID. It is about the fact that the law disenfranchises those who have no fixed address.. transients, homeless, those in communities without street addresses

Why, can’t native Americans register to vote or own ID?

North Dakota has no registration. The only state that doesn't. All you need is an ID with your current address. If it doesn't have your current address you have to bring something like a cable or other utility bill with your name on it.

I view it as racist to suggest that Indians lack the intelligence or ambition to secure an ID prior to the election.

"The state has procedures for obtaining an alternative ID" is the most important part of this article. If people want to vote, they will vote.

But ’Requiring street address when many of them use P.O. Boxes in rural areas. And others use PO Boxes to prevent mail theft . You shouldn't have to get a separate ID just to vote. Nothing more than voter suppression

Very funny Wall Street, it is a standard practice in the United States to have ID to vote. If anyone wants to abstract from that, they harm themselves.

Why is it such a big deal to require ID to vote? The problem is getting people to the polls. Yesterday I watched a reporter ask a crowd of 20-30 college students “who is voting in the midterm elections?” and only about 2 said they planned to. That’s pretty bad.

Because you should be able to exercise your constitutional right to vote even if you don’t drive or have a state-issued picture ID. They cost money to get, and they cost time. Voting is a right, and the Establishment is throwing up barriers that prevent the poor from voting.

I don’t think this is as big a problem as you all make it out to be. People are turned off by all the bickering, that’s what keeps them from the polls.

Hey, Native Americans! The Wall Street Journal says you're too dumb to get a voter ID! BTW: January 2020 you won't be able to fly without an ID that has the same information! So you're grounded too!
