Opinion: Failing to treat Judge Kavanaugh fairly would give us a nasty #MeToo precedent, writes @wjmcgurnhttps://on.wsj.com/2D9aZ72

Every victim absolutely deserves to be heard. But due process and the concept of innocent until proven guilty cannot be casualties of the #MeToo movement. It is arguably more important now than ever before to have genuine due process in our courts.

And this entire proceeding has made a sham of due process. Releasing a fraction of Kavanaugh’s records just hours before the hearing, unanswered questions, and evidence of perjury...

There should absolutely be transparency in all parts of the confirmation process for such a serious and esteemed position. In my opinion, due process has been ignored by both sides at different times in an attempt to gain a political advantage.

Not releasing documents and not answering questions tells me he's not really treating the process fairly. But hey... he's the victim here.

Failing to treat Dr. Blasey fairly would give us a nasty #whiteoldmen in Congress precedent. And would taint the Supreme Court...it's integrity is more important than one man.

Great - another man telling us how to handle the woman’s allegations. And of course the Dems are changing the “norm” of these hearing ignoring that the “norm” was thrown out by Repub refusal to give the more qualified Garland with a hearing. Hypocrisy at its finest WSJ.

All well and good; nice opinion piece. But, to be meaningful and persuasive in this climate, it’d be better to be reading the opinion of conservative women on this issue. The left is telling men to shut up.
