Apple's Screen Time tool is designed to help us use our iPhones less. But if you don't also have some self-control, it won't be enough.https://on.wsj.com/2OCdiAI

This could open up some good discussions between parents and children about how much screen time is healthy and also what that time is being used for (e.g., social media, productivity, etc. ) @stnkspirit

Sheesh. It's not Apple's responsibility for quelling usage of their devices; individual responsibility takes precedent here, as it always should. Alternative headline: Self control will determine how much/how little you use something. Colour me shocked!

Not sure i want to buy another ‘thing’ fir my iphobe. My using/looking so much @ my apple (yes) may be an addiction-but I can have worst ones. This doesn’t cost me $ or jail time or make for bad driving skills (oh maybe a little Bad example!!)

I’m all in on periodic digital detox. There is an natural ebb and flow with life, unplugging, even intermittently, can reset our minds. I just went on vacation for a week to a resort with no TVs. I ckd twitter on occasion to skim the headlines and skipped all pundit chats #bliss

If you have no self control an app showing you how much you use each app (which you’ve been able to see in the battery usage tab forever anyway) won’t change a thing. It’s just more specific data mining for Apple & apps on your phone to sell.

I freely admit I have no self control with this stuff. All "Screen Time" would do is horrify me over how much time I spend on my devices, immediately followed by self denial & basically exhibiting the ostrich effect. 😁

Thats a very good feature. Nice move by Apple. Its not enough to stop using certain apps tho.
