Damn! If 4000 "pig manure lagoons" also over flood into rivers, it would be catastrophic for the health of people hit by Florence in N & S Carolina

Ash left behind when coal is burned contains toxic heavy metals, including arsenic, lead and mercury. Dangerous situation.

Lessons to be learned from every natural disaster. Hopefully these events are analyzed in detail after the recovery phase is complete w/ recommended corrective actions. Then should similar disasters strike again in the future we'll be better prepared to prevent re-occurrences.

This is a lesson we have never learned. It has occurred numerous times. Flyash is returned from power plants to these pits for disposal. Very little regulation exist and what did exist is being killed. Check out TVA and Kingston power plant failure.

Never a fan of Richard Nixon . . . . NEVER-EVER-NEVER BUT ! He did do One Thing right by accident . . . He created the EPA. Now der (want-a-be) fuhrer Trump-a-noid is taking that One Thing apart. There will be more pictures coming like the one above.
