FEMA is good at waste removal. They really are. It's important, but I'm not sure I would count on them for much more

I wish this country returned to the days of saying, “I’m going to be a good neighbor and we’re all going to help one another recover from this horrific disaster.”

There is only so much the federal government can do. Local government and the victims themselves knew such a storm would come one day. How did they prepare?

First thing you need to know about FEMA is that it's govt. Thus it is tied to the IRS. If you owe back taxes and/or under an installment agreement you will be denied. Yes, that is the kind of people they are.

What?? Why is there a reliance on the Feds when this is truly a local and state issue? Let the private charities and volunteers get the job done.

Don’t expect FEMA to do anything. Useless agency. You will do it yourself or it won’t get done.
