Traveling with small children is rarely fun. But what if your 4-year-old gets stuck in a seat away from you?https://on.wsj.com/2CPJMWP

Easy. Had this happen. Handed my child a bunch of chips, candy and soda. Said "have fun." Seconds later, they moved him by me.

This would never happen with me because I wouldn't book the damn seats separate from one another. And if on southwest, upgrade boarding to get seats together.

Happened to me and my 4yr old daughter on a flight to visit my parents. Airline rules didn’t allow the check-in lady to change any of the prechecked aisle or window seats, but coach was oversubscribed, so she bumped me to first class and suggested I use that as a bargaining chip.

So I walked down the aisle with daughter in hand and asked the 6’++ guy in the aisle seat if he’d be willing to swap with me. He agreed at once and uncoiled himself, thinking he’d be crammed into a middle seat. The look on his face when the stewardess escorted him to first class!

When we peeked in at him on a bathroom break he had his legs stretched out, wine glass in hand, and was chatting up the young lady next to him. Virtue rewarded.

As a parent, this is frustrating and disappointing that an airline would do that.

Dumb article and headline. This never happens when a mother is a ‘lion.’ I would yell bloody murder and someone would trade seats.

Time has come to regulate the Airlines.!!! This is shameful for god sake. Since when families need permission to sit together on a plane?? Maybe time has come to boycott some of these Airlines!!! Yep 😳🙄☹️ @CNN @NBCNews @abcnews @CBSNews

How did this happen in the first place? I wasn't allowed to sit across the aisle from my 3 and 4-year-old kids who were seated with their 10-year-old brother -- I had to sit with the young ones and they put my 10-y/o across the aisle from us.
