"it is extraordinary to me that people would want to participate in trying to essentially buy a Senator’s vote” says senator who's received over $600,000 from the defense industry and votes in their interests 90% of the time.

How is crowdsourcing for her next opponent BRIBING HER? She’s not getting the $$$$. Is the NRA or Koch Bros. withholding money because of how elected officials vote also “bribing.” Dems vote against NRA interests, then they don’t get NRA money. I’d expect @WSJ to get that.

The definition in this article definitely suggests that the NRA should be charged with bribery immediately. And, in fact, every PAC, the Koch Bros. ... it's all bribery. Silly me, all along I thought that bribery was core to the US political system.

How is funding the opposition a bribe? A bribe is when the money goes directly to Susan’s campaign, ya know like money from all her corporate donars. 🙄

How about - It's not a bribe, it's a warning from her constituents. They aren't offering her the money, they are offering to continue to support her if she does the right thing for her constituents. Or not.

Plus, she only takes her bribes quietly. They know she won't take this money.

No, money won’t do the trick for those already wealthy, thousands and thousands of angry women voters voting DEM just might.

It wasn’t a bribe. The super PAC money is a bribe.

Maybe we’ve finally stumbled upon a way to overturn Citizens United and it’s resulting Super PACs, call them Bribery PACs and go after them on RICO or other applicable charges. Thanks WSJ opinion page! 🙏

Yes. Super PACs aren’t bribery right? This is such an absurd publication I can’t even believe the @WSJ would approve it.

How is this any different than the Koch's saying that their PACs aren't going to support Republicans that don't align with their view?

That’s right! Only the rich contributors to her super PAC can do that. The rest of us aren’t rich enough to do it every election cycle so we can suck it. NBC had a piece yesterday where a Mainer says he doesn’t vote because he feels it gets nowhere. That’s why we have Collins.
