Talking in person is a life skill that teens need. What happens when they marry or get a job? You have to know how to communicate, read body language, and understand verbal/physical nuance. This is a sad but predictable product of hi-tech isolation.

As an individual with autism. I would point those are not the only tools to success. I also don't feel lacking those prevents success. It is different and alien but not broken. I think there are better ways to approach this concern.

My son is also Autistic and I agree there are other ways. But I teach him about body language and do my best to make sure he is aware. I still say that overall, not knowing how to communicate in person can easily and quickly become an issue.

I will share something critical then. I pass for the most part. However my experience is its like any other strain do it to much increased my burnouts and meltdowns. So yes I still use those skills for first impressions but i typically revert to my core personality im day to day

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that most adults prefer it, too- with the exception of a few close friends.

I find this statistic very concerning. I think the lack of face to face relationships is helping fuel a number of problems in society today. ☹️

I have in depth conversations with people all over the USA and all over the world. When I go outside I smile at everybody, say hello and that's about the end of that. They created Social Media to be addicting. They got in people's heads. We all need to go outside more.

To save the cost of another survey I would go as far as saying most teenagers are INCAPABLE of holding a normal conversation without the use of a phone
