Gen Z was shaped by recessions, financial crises, war, terror threats, school shootings and the constant glare of social media. Meet your new employees.https://on.wsj.com/2Qbf8do

I’m a masters student at Georgetown Univeristy because it’s extremely hard to get a job with just a bachelors degree. Go ahead and keep that entitlement narrative going though.....

I was also born to a military family (those people you have so much respect for) being the man of the house during deployments and other times my dad was gone. He also enlisted at the age of 17 so clearly we weren’t rich. The only way we could pay for undergrad

Was because of the GI bill. I was the president of College Reps, an active participant in College Dems, member of the Adam Smith club, and many others. I graduated with a degree in political economics and proficient in every statistical analysis program available.

I got into Georgetown because of great grades and knowledge. I’m on student loans just to get this second degree. All my family has done is fight. Please continue to talk about how entitled my generation is while you continue to have problems downloading anything by yourself.

Rewind every 8-10 years and you'll hear the same thing. Young people are young people. The one exception were the young people who came home from WWII/Vietnam having grown up on the battlefield.

Written about the American Gen Z, but I think it reflects Gen Z the world over. Can't blame them for growing up in these turmultuos times.

Gen Z was also shaped by families, a nice home, church on Sunday, family walks, studying, playing some sports, reading books, watching movies...you know, ordinary life...

They sound amazing. It’s hopeful as an employer in this hiring environment that the next generation could be people who want a secure job working for your company, not who want to own your company. We need a balance of entrepreneurs and dependable workers.

Well you’ll never become wealthy working for someone else, but you can get short term guarantees working for someone else. It sounds like they are both individualistic but also have to work for someone else due to their risk averse mindset.
