Hope that $2,000 in credit card debt is at least a cash advance so they can buy cheap crude oil futures options so at least it can go up 1000%

Here's a thought... Stop letting @Visa, @MastercardNews, and the rest of those fucking vultures onto campuses to prey on college students? And how about high schools start teaching some life skills and educating kids about finance, banking, basic home repair, etc.

I'm not blaming the cc companies for the poor decisions. I'm blaming the colleges for exposing the students to the temptation. That said, I do hold the cc companies for preying on students just to make a profit. Business is business, but there is a thing called ethics.

Yeah I get that but it’s still the students responsiblility to do research before signing up for something. Sometimes you gotta fight temptation.

I agree. It is their responsibility to research and to fight temptation. But that doesn't mean we have to put that temptation front and center. Sometimes it's our job as adults to protect kids. Otherwise, why not sell booze on campus?

I mean college students will always have booze whether is on campus or not. Signing up for a credit card and not knowing how to use it really isn’t the same.

I'm not saying alcohol and cc's are the same (although, if abused, can be equally destructive). But if we're talking access, college students can get credit card applications whether they are on campus or not. Why do they have to make them available on campus?

Just because you're 19 doesn't mean you're mature enough to see the potential pitfalls of a decision. Be it a CC or binge drinking, sometimes young adults still need real adults to guide them.
