The tension between Sen. John McCain and President Donald Trump has come to symbolize, in many ways, a divide within the GOPhttps://on.wsj.com/2PDZeYB

America is less, with the passing of John McCain. He embodied the BEST of this nation & the GOP. Trump, in every way, is a wannabe. He doesn't measure up. You cannot buy the respect & admiration that McCain earned. Title does NOT make the man.

If the news media and respected reporters are SMART, and truly want this country to move forward with strength, they will spend this week FULLY focused on the life of John McCain, and they will NOT have news stories about Trump and his reactions, AT ALL!!!

The tension comes from the fact that the country somehow elected a President who isn't actually human

Where did you get that 90% from? I grew up and live in a very Republican area and most of the ppl I know simply tolerate him. The only reason many of my neighbors even voted for that guy was because he was not a Clinton

BS. The Trump McCain thing is personal, make no mistake about it. And the GOP is in lock step with Donald Trump. right behind Paul Ryan are a lot of Republicans who are sticking their necks out for Trump by aiding & abetting his effort to obstruct justice

He’s now gone, let him rest w/o a lot of rhetoric about him & @POTUS.The Senator was clear,he didn’t care for @realDonaldTrump while he was alive,so much so,he didn’t want Trump attending his homegoing celebration bc Trump exhibits a bad seed that’s not deemed worthy for a funeral

At least members of the GOP are not lemmings who blindly follow their presidential candidate who lost the 2016 election after having her party take the 2008 nomination away from her by throwing out MI and Fl running Obama. Oh wait they railroaded Bernie in 2016 too

We can respect who McCain was, and still support TRUMP. And we are. I'm sad for his family that he passed, but I didn't like where his politics were going. Get over yourselves
