I think people just want universal and affordable healthcare, bub. Seems like other countries that aren't socialist and aren't Venezuela have figured it out.

"Democratic Socialism" is an oxymoron -- former Yugoslavia was a "Democratic Socialist", how did that work out?

I may be wrong, but the model they been using for the requests is much more like Germany, Portugal, Australia, Canada and Sweden. Capitalist, but with strong social programs funded by the government.

Depends on the group. Canada isn't nearly as Social fiscally as a lot of Americans think (except Ottawa and Saskatchewan), nor is Sweden, Denmark, Germany, etc. Some want an EU styled social state with free markets... a LOT (progressives) want full socialism or communism .

No, but if you go back to the 1930s you will see that the US has also instituted socialist programs Social security and other forms of government aid.

Of course. It isn't a question, at least for me, of whether some of these programs are good ideas... but to what extent. Our Walfare State has grown to the point of fiscal irrationality. We could reallocate the money to other things like Homelessness.

Once the move from the Idea of Duty to the demand of Rights took place -- a duty to take care of your family, neighbor, persons in distress etc. to the Right to be treated in certain why by family, neighbor, and society -- we no longer needed to actively be involved we just want!

First of all its not Trump controlling everything, He is not a king. Only state universities would be subsidized and many hospitals are going bankrupt and close as it is now so it can't get worse only better.

Medicare for all has nothing to do with running hospitals. It is an insurance plan. Having the state take an interest for the people who live there is not communism. Only old people think there is no difference.

A pile of anti-American Crispin crap. 👇🏻 What Crispin claims as "never plausible" is the foundation of our democratic-republic. What Lincoln called ≈"of, by, & for the people." No surprise coming from a "self-proclaimed anarchist." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crispin_Sartwell … WTF WSJ?pic.twitter.com/FNwTI7wBcc
