Opinion: We’re not millennials. Hold my generation, those born after 1996, to a higher standard, writes @nicole_renee971https://on.wsj.com/2Pyj9Iv

"We do less drinking, take fewer drugs and have less sex than millennials did at our age." What a bunch of nerds

All the studies cited about less sex, drugs, etc.. are usually cited along with increased loneliness, less friends, and more depression. So yeah, your generation isn’t eating avocado toast. It’s eating tide pods and posting memes about being depressed.

Gen Z right now is synonymous with virtue signaling on social media. The idea that gen Z is somehow a scapegoat is ridiculous. Every generation has issues, every generation has different challenges.

What’s beyond annoying about Gen Z is that they do the bare minimum to consider themselves political, and then they post on every social media how much change they’re creating.

The students driving around Alabama registering black voters in the 60’s weren’t doing the bare minimum. The marchers in Selma. marching with your friends in a city that agrees with you and posting it on social media is doing the bare minimum.

I do the bare minimum, most millennial do. My problem is with Gen Z thinking that they’re the messiah. They’re not. Trump sucks, we’re all pissed, but Gen Z needs to calm down and realize that change is slow and gradual, and no one likes being lectured to about morality.

Hipster millennials, like Baudelaire’s dandy, strive to “create a personal form of originality, within the external limits of social conventions”—to be themselves while fitting in.  Congratulations you just described every generation, you're not special...

Do you think millenials don’t have jobs? Do you think they aren’t starting families? Do you have any idea why they don’t get along well with boomers? Your attempt to bash millenials has only demonstrated ignorance and intolerance. Maybe get off instagram and talk to a human.

Yes and the article’s point doesn’t land. You can’t criticize millenials for 90% of the article and make a saving grace comment at the end to get away with it. If the thesis is to not generalize by generation, then why do they generalize for the large majority of the essay?
