Cohen was in NY court. Fed can pardon state convictions? I thought no. Spanky would love to pardon both of his coconspirators. If he does there will be widespread rioting. Where is the ethical Congress? They cant really sit on their hands much longer. #GOPComplicit #Trumppic.twitter.com/qYKe97CKQK

But then they can be subpoenaed to the grand jury and CANNOT take the Fifth Amendment, so the Orange Anus isn't out of the woods, at all! Disappointing for you all at the WSJ editorial board, I know. But there it is. . .

You can take the 5th amendment anytime you want.

In the case of a pardon, no. The 5th Amendment doesn't apply when the guys would be required to admit guilt in order to receive said pardons. They *can* be subpoenaed and they may NOT plead the 5th.

Of course he can look at all the bank fraud, tax evasion and drug runners Bill Clinton pardoned. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_pardoned_by_Bill_Clinton …

Hahaha nice try... How about all the pardons he gave to people involved with the Clinton's in whitewater or pardoning his half brother for cocaine charges? Close enough.

Not by a mile. Roger Clinton did his time in prison & was pardoned much later. Let Manafort & Cohen do their time first. Future president Tammy Duckworth can consider their cases later.

Pardoning your enablers and co-conspirators would be an egregious abuse of power that should rise to the level of "he should not be in office anymore" and be impeached and removed from office.

He has the authority. It would be a gross abuse of his power though and would warrant impeachment.

IMPORTANT NOTE: a pardon of #Cohen would require an admission of guilt, guilt which would extend to Trump as a co-conspirator in Cohen's crimes. This would also make a Cohen pardon a Trump **self-pardon**. #CohenPleaDeal #GUILTYhttps://twitter.com/WSJ/status/1032066104464687104?s=19 …

Sure, but Federal tax evasion (undeclared federal income) would also impact State tax returns, a State-level fraud and a crime beyond Presidential pardon.
