I assume that means they have reached a verdict on 17 and there is a single one they are hung on? Hoping that's what it means.

Love It. Paul Manafort was charged SIMPLY TO GET HIM TO ROLL OVER ON TRUMP. Mueller was teying to squeeze him. Now, the jury is having difficulty agreeing to convict him on just a single count ! Thus whole trial is 1 BIG SAD JOKE !!! Coup d'etah on President Trump FALLING APART !

They are reported to have reached a verdict on 17 counts, hung on just one. And the phrase is spelled “coup d’etat.”

Stupid question. You proceed on the other counts. Even if one or two result in a hung jury, you still take the verdicts on the rest.

Yes, the one count will be considered an incomplete verdict and the prosecutors have the option to retry the def on that count(s). However the other agreed-upon counts will proceed with adjudication.

I believe Manafort is being prosecuted in order to coerce him into a plea bargain implicating others. I would personally vote to not convict.

Why? Perfectly effective technique. Giuliani used it against the Mob back in the day.

I am personally against it. A guilty person should not be bribed....I believe bribery is a crime....

The way to inoculate yourself against this technique, is to avoid committing crimes.

Our system can not afford to dig into decades worth of old data to go after someone so that they can go after someone else particularly when there is no evidence of a crime being committed by that other person....I believe that what is happening is an abuse of power.

The bank fraud was in 2016. If we can’t afford the SC, we probably can’t afford the 600x larger farmer bailout, or Space Force ;)

I just am opposed to selective enforcement and pleading guilty to a crime that was not committed.

In the case of Manafort, he has not pleaded guilty. In the case of Flynn, Gates, Papadopoulos, IIRC they pleaded guilty to lying to FBI.

To those who think Mr. Manafort should be acquitted, given the voluminous evidence, I'll assume you don't mind paying all those thousands of dollars in tax monies he tricked the system out of. Good to know.
