Gina, if you know any truck drivers with HAZMAT, tanker, & Chem certs, they can make $100K+/year in Permian Basin, TX. PS: NO state income tax!

A lot of the blue collar jobs-maintenance, custodial, building, etc.- don't need college degrees; just accreditation. I don't expect my car mechanic, plumber, or handyman to have a college degree. I do expect them to know their trade. I am all for this move.

College, specifically undergraduate, is extremely overrated.

The advantage of college is studying many different topics and growing a diverse professional network; the graduate has more flexibility and can adapt to a changing market. These narrowly trained vocational students will be at the mercy of their employer and stuck in one industry

Actually, Carlos, apprenticeships are more in-line with actual market needs than any other educational system. The permeability is also quite high because the apprentices also learn soft skills which are valuable in many industries. @ilo @OECD has great resources on the subject👋

I have read @OECD's working paper No.153 on apprenticeships but I don't see evidence that suggests replacing post-secondary education with vocational training (as opposed to supplementing). Source?

A well educated electorate is not in the @GOP self interest. Without a population of stupid people who could get rich? Who would vote republican? The entire corpus of deceitful iniquity is based on the gullibility of dumb suckers. "In Fraud We Trust"

The ugly secret of college in America is smart people go to college free, not very smart people pay outrageous money for it, and really stupid people go into debt for it......for example: Anyone on Earth can go to college tuition free in Norway. Skoal Man.
