Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, whose public approval is shaky, could face a high price if he botches the effort to amend the country's constitutionhttps://on.wsj.com/2KNxygf

The constitution should stay as it is. Japan’s pacifism not only makes it unique but has allowed it to advance ten-fold due to the money that would be sent to the military being able to be used to actually improve the country. Militarism and nationalism already failed Japan.

They're spending hundreds of millions of yen maintaining US military bases.

I didn’t know that but it wouldn’t surprise me to be honest. But I seriously think Japan should keep its constitution as it is.

Well in the end it's their constitution and their decision. I agree militarism in general is a bad policy, but they have contributed to UN peacekeeping well. US bases in Japan was part of the 1952 Treaty of San Francisco. Japan got it's sovereignty in exchange for US base rights.

        現時点では、憲法改正は厳しい。国会で両院三分の二以上の賛成により憲法改正の発議がなされ国民投票法により国民の過半数以上の賛成が必要とされている。現時点では、国民に其ほど理解が得られているとは言い難い。

Japan has distorted history. Is Japan afraid to reveal the truth of history? Please apologize to the Japanese military sexual slavery victim.
