The "better way" is to delete NOTHING. If you find someone repeatedly posts things offensive to you, simply unfollow or block them. Problem solved.

The problem is, there are people who don't want Alice to see what Bill has to say even if Alice and Bill both want to interact, and that rule won't satisfy those people.

"I don't want to see this awful stuff I'll seeing" makes sense to me, but "I don't want other people to easily exchange bad ideas" is something people who care about free speech should push back on.

Well they are not doing a good job that’s for sure. I had an account suspended for calling Laura Ingram a hateful,racist, c@nt. But she had a half a dozen hateful immigrant rants. Trump can spew all the hate and almost cause nuclear war and nothing. There is an issue there.
