I have a jar on my stove to save bacon grease in order to “repurpose” it later. Oh yes, I am from the South.

I'm a Chicagoan and do the same thing. There are times when you just need bacon fat in a recipe.

I strain it through cheesecloth, put it in a Mason jar and store it in the fridge. I use it for frying pierogies...YUM!!!

Put the grease in the bacon jar and in refrigerator. No big deal. Smucker jelly jars work the best!
