So, if "refugees" and "asylum seekers" are different, and we are allowing 25,000 refugees, is there also a cap on asylum seekers? If so, does anyone know what that number is?

The policy is appropriate considering the number of illegal aliens/undocumented migrants the United States must first process. We already have a huge backlog, so putting refuges on the back burner may be necessary.

I know that any suggestion for a sane immigration policy that pays attention to the enormous NEED for workers in some states will be ignored, but we have job openings that we simply can’t fill with our present population.

Problem is the population does not necessarily migrate to where its needed. Eg: Dakotas vs California
