Welcome to the Soybean World, Almond growers, with Trump's socialist version of free trade that Republicans supposedly revere.. Stiglitz and other economists have warned us of political policies that distort economies and you are one of the victims. Good luck! #TariffSheriff

China is taking the trade war up a notch as they believe we will weaken. NO--this is not Obama's administration. China has taken advantage for too long; China needs us to take their goods. They will blink first.

@rickcatino @realDonaldTrump Right. And the US is the worlds only source of Almonds? China is now buying soybeans from Brazil and Lobster from Canada. Do you think we’ll ever get those markets back? We’re sitting on 1.5b tons on beef too if you’re a hungry Trumpkin

Luxury item. Wait them out. They need us to buy their goods more than we need cheap priced almonds.

Almonds are not a luxury item. They are food. In fact, they are more critical to our food supply than beef or dairy.

and some helped... the money Americans save on FOOD can be spent elsewhere in OUR own economy which multiplies jobs. Economies adjust... and PRICES should adjust and PROFIT go lower. The United States has some of the highest food prices in the World. One reason: We EXPORT it!

Ergo, reduced total demand for almonds because of China's tariff has reduced consumer prices in the US. This aspect of trade deals often gets overlooked. Not saying it makes the tariff good, simply that the effects are not uniformly anti-consumer as Cato likes to portray.

Peach growers have to "Thin" the crop to allow the peaches to gro to full size! Huge plantings of Almonds have threatened the future of the prices and severely stresses our water supply! Maybe some of the Old orchards won't be replaced after this!

This has nothing to do with either thinner or over planting. It is a direct result of Tяump’s terrible feign trade policies.
