The Greek combination of literally unbearable marginal tax rates on sources of income (payrolls and profits) and uses of income (sales) has driven a fourth of the economy underground. In Sweden we are also wondering what we get in return from having high taxes. You would think that having the highest taxes in the world would give us the best medical care, armed forces, schools etc. But we are not, far from it. There is more than just having high taxes.
