Inserting himself into monetary policy has virtually no upside for President Trump and plenty of downsidehttps://on.wsj.com/2A1UQ1Y

Of course he's against raising rates. He has no understanding of how the Fed fights inflation & deflation (over the past several years). He has absolutely zero understanding of micro or macro economics. He's a salesman for heavens sake. And a failure at that with 6 bankruptcies

The concerning thing is that Trump's base will buy it. Just like they have bought into trade wars, higher deficits & national debt, cozying up to Russia, etc. As long as Fox, Rush, etc tell them what to think, they will believe it. And so far, they communicate what Trump wants.

The Fed absolutely needs financial guidance from some one who has declared bankruptcy several times. @realDonaldTrump I don't think the United States declaring bankruptcy is a good idea!

19 months in, and he still doesn't understand his role. He still views the government from his personal perspective. What's in it for HIM, financially.

Absolutely wrong conclusion. @POTUS is realigning America’s #monetary-policy with that of emerging #NationalIndustrial policy. I know it is really difficult for your “pundits” to fathom it but that is exactly what he is doing to get #America ready compete in the global markets.

He is a self described expert in everything, and for anyone who has lived a bit of life this ought be a warning siren to beware of unseen pitfalls. Life often has a way of taking the wind out of the sails of those who sell themselves off as always being right.

And you think he he cares? All of us are 2nd class citizens so our opinions don't matter.Because he has the Russians who will cheat his way into a 2nd term. But a decent journalistic entity would have been looking at this during his run for office and afterwards to determine why.

Upside down. Inside out, Trump's monetary policy remains unclear but costy. He is an expensive person with bad manners and unclear leadership but made in USA.

The more important issue by far...is why doesn't the government nationalize the Fed? The banking crooks have been using it to rob the USA citizenry blind for 100 years..and anyone suggesting that the Fed is/has been non political..is obviously drinking the Wall Street Koolaid.

Its contractionary policy. Something that helps slow inflation & stabilize growth so we dont peak too quick & hit another recession. It was at 5% before the last recession & immediately dropped to 1% in '08 as an expansionary response. It has climbed slowly since then.
