A man takes 2 months when his child is born, missing out on a key project/sales goal. Therefore he does not get promoted. Corporations will absolutely pay a person not to work for a month or 2 to avoid paying him $20K more next year.

This is yet another ploy by management to reduce SGA. They will not give material salary increases but they will trumpet these extended leave policies as part of “total compensation”.
